Personal Freedoms Versus Group Rights It is not that is anyone defending smoker rights, but how far smokers and non smokers can negotiate the facts on smokers rights, and the numerous and dangerous health issues for others with those rights. Unless smoking is outlawed completely, the battle will rage on between the two groups. The benefit of the masses verses the welfare of a shirking minority that is fighting back hard for smoker’s rights. What ever your stance on smokers rights the best way to show compassion is to understand that all people have faults. It is easy to show your support for non smoking, but it does not have to be an issue that causes hate or violence. Smoking is an addiction, and the best way to show concern is to understand smokers rights, but work against the tobacco industry for smokers rights.
