Cigars Are Sexy
Men who smoke cigars are usually considered sexy while men who smoke cigarettes aren’t. Smoking cigarettes has gone from being a very popular and socially acceptable habit to being frowned on and socially unacceptable. But cigar smoking men never seem to go out of style. A cigar smoking man is seen as having class, substance, that indefinable quality that women look for. Traditionally men smoking cigars were men that had money, and class, and good taste. Maybe that’s why men smoking cigars are still popular today. Even while cigarette smoking is declining, mens cigar smoking is on the rise. In the last decade many specialty cigar shops and cigar bars have opened where people can go and smoke a cigar and drink some top shelf alcohol. A man who likes to smoke a cigar usually likes to have a drink with it to enhance the experience. Many older male Hollywood stars have taken up cigar smoking much to the delight of their female fans who think that older men who smoke cigars are very sexy. Unfortunately the smoking bans that exist in many places don’t allow men to smoke cigars in public. Cigars And Smoking Bans Since many states have already banned smoking in public or are considering banning smoking in public cigar shops are at risk of having to close. Cigar shops have long been a place where men could go after work to get a fine cigar and have a drink and watch a game or just watch TV or play chess and talk with friends. Cigar stores are important social outlets that may be forced to close under smoking bans that make it illegal to smoke in public, even in a store that sells cigars and cigarettes. Many cigar stores also carry high end imported cigarettes as well. Cigar store owners that smoking bans will deprive them of their right to make a living by forcing them to close because their customers will not be allowed to smoke inside. Some lawmakers who are in favor of the smoking ban support making a special exception for cigar stores or other places where cigars or cigarettes account for more than 20% of a store’s business. That would almost certainly mean that not only would cigar stores survive, they would boom because all the smokers would go to the cigar store to buy cigarettes and cigars in a place where they would be allowed to smoke indoors.
